Dave Hebert

leads internal and audio-visual communication at the U.S. Geological Survey, including strategy, messaging, policy, standards, and tactics. His job is to help USGS leadership and employees connect with each other through open and useful channels of communication, and to help the USGS use video, audio, and graphic design to convey its mission to internal and external audiences. He’s been with the USGS since 2003, and has also co-chaired the Federal Communicators Network and is a senior fellow in the Partnership for Public Service's Excellence in Government program.

The USGS is the Nation’s largest earth science agency and provides information on the health of our ecosystems and environment, the natural hazards that threaten us, the natural resources we rely on, the impacts of climate and land-use change, and the core science systems that help us provide timely, relevant, and useable information.

Awards

NAGC awards underscore the association's high standards of professionalism in public service. An annual Distinguished Service Award bestows the organization's highest honor on a member; Awards of Excellence recognize government agencies or individuals for significant achievement; and Service Awards are presented to members for noteworthy service.
